"I knew George was going to be a big guy and it was imperative that we made sure he would be safe around family and friends. Our veterinarian recommended Charmaine and from the moment I met her she put us at ease. She taught us a new way of training that avoids punishment and focuses on rewards. I think what Charmaine excels at is teaching her clients how to assess behavior to determine which ones are normal and which are potentially problematic. Her continuing education is most impressive. She attends workshops all over the country and incorporates this knowledge into her practice. Over the almost 10 years since we first met we have become friends. She often brings her new puppy clients over for socialization. She calls Georgie her puppy ambassador. Finally, Charmaine’s best qualities are her warmth and sense of humor. She loves your dog like her own, and the feeling is mutual. Everytime she leaves our home George runs to the front windows crying and barking as she departs. “We adopted a rescued two-year-old male German Shepherd—and, thankfully, Charmaine rescued us. Tanner is strong, athletic, bursting with energy, and fearful. Charmaine taught us how to keep Tanner out of situations that he can’t handle. At the same time, Charmaine worked with us to gradually and safely help Tanner be less fearful. “We rescued a chihuahua, Roger, who was about eight years old. He behaved well when it was just my husband and me—but when people came over, he would bark nonstop. The animal shelter that we got him from recommended Charmaine. She came over and taught us so much about how to read Roger’s body language. Charmaine helped us understand how Roger was feeling and what would make him feel more comfortable. She was very generous with her time, both in emails and on the phone between visits, which was invaluable to me. She gave us very specific advice on how to work with Roger, and a month later, he was a much happier dog. We are also ‘clicker training’ him, and so far, he can sit and ‘dance’ on cue. My husband and I (and Roger) are much happier because Charmaine came into our lives.”

It's hard for me to truly express how grateful I am for Charmaine, and how amazing she is. My family and I adopted a 4 year old rescue who had many issues. As one of my children said - "she doesn't know how to dog!" When we got Yoshi, she didn't know how to eat out of a bowl, ride in a car, play with toys, or walk on a leash. She was very fearful around new people and situations and extremely dog reactive. Luckily, a colleague referred me to Charmaine and she has done wonders with our sweet dog. Charmaine is intuitive, knowledgeable, patient, and kind and helped us to achieve realistic goals that make Yoshi the happy dog that she is now. As a result, she is able to fully relish in many of the wonders of being a dog—walking without fear of other dogs, relaxing in the backyard, playing with toys, and making new friends when we have guests over. Yoshi still lights up with joy when she sees Charmaine—(as do we, honestly!) We're so lucky we found Charmaine and will absolutely hire her again when we next choose to adopt!
